There are 7 villages on Texel, we're gonna show you the villages of texel.

Den Burg

Den Burg is the "capital" of Texel, and it is also the busiest village of Texel.

There are a lot of good restaurants, cozy terraces and nice shops.

But there is also a cinema, a museum and a swimming pool.

this is the place to go for a day of shopping.

Throughout the summer various summer markets are organized.

The markets are from 11 o'clock to 17 o'clock in the center of Den Burg.

The themes of the markets vary by market, so you will be surprised every time!

                                                                                         We really recommend this village.

De Koog

De Koog is the main village of Texel.

De Koog got everything a tourist need.

A nice shopping center, plenty of nice restaurants and bars and the beach is within walking distance of the center of the village.
De Koog is popular with boaters, beach posts 19 and 17 are really popular with the surfers.
Ecomare* is also located in De Koog, so you should definitly visit it because it was really fun.

De Cocksdorp

Texels youngest village is De Cocksdorp.

Every year on every Thursday of July and August there is a fair held in the village.
The 150 year old lighthouse is 35 meters high and is now used as a museum if you're at the top you have a beautiful view of the Wadden.

In the north of the island (cocksdorp) the North-, and Wadden Sea come togetherr, that creates a flow and thats why it is forbidden to swim.

The Slufter* is in De Cocksdorp and we recommend it to go there because it was beautifull nature.

Den Hoorn

The southernmost village of Texel is Den Hoorn.

From Den Helder you can often see Den Hoorn already.

It is a quiet area and surrounded by nature.

Den Hoorn has many cozy streets with many artists.

The most photographed object of texel is in Den Hoorn: the famous reformed church.
In spring Den Hoorn is located between the colorful bulb fields.
Nearby Den Hoorn is Het Hoorntje, it is the place where the boat arrives and depart.

Oudeschild

Oudeschild is the only village of Texel situated directly on the sea.

Sometimes the quay overflows, but that doesn't really matter for the people who live there.

Oudeschild is the home of Texels fishing fleet, around the weekend are the ports full of modern cutters.

You can take a boat trip from Oudeschild on the Wadden Sea and experience the VOC-history from the "Texelse reede" in Kaap skil*.

De Waal

In the centre of Texel is the smallest village: De Waal.

Here it is quiet and friendly atmosphere.

That De Waal is the smallest village doesn't mean you shouldn't go to it.

You shoud visit De Waal by foot or with a bike so you can enjoy the beauty of the village.

Oosterend

A lot of people think Oosterend is the most beautiful village on Texel.

The impressive Maartenschurch is the striking centerpiece of Oosterend.

Around the church quant streets and alleys with nice, old frontages.

The village is located close to the Wadden Sea.

Oosterend got a active, close neighborhood community.

In the summer every 2 weeks there is a flea market.
